At IBIS, we believe that the quality of data depends on the rigor of the research methodology behind it. Our database is a fully researched marketing resource, continuously updated by a dedicated team of linguistic experts. Using advanced online research tools, they identify new institutes, libraries, and contacts on an ongoing basis — ensuring that the IBIS database remains accurate, comprehensive, and up to date.
In addition to our core research, IBIS reaches out to all new contacts with a short questionnaire. This informs them about the database and gives them the option to view or update their personal record, or to opt out at any time. Each year, only a negligible number of academics choose to opt out. The vast majority value the service as a reliable way to stay informed about publications in their field. Many academics even notify us proactively when they change institutions, ensuring they continue to receive updates from IBIS and our publishing partners.
The IBIS Worldwide Academic and Library File is part of Metropolis Business Publishing, who are members of the DMA. Our research processes and management of academic and library data are compliant with the new GDPR regulations (2018). To view our privacy policy, click here.
It is our aim to ensure all academics on file receive only marketing communications that are relevant to their teaching and research and only rent data to educational and academic publishers (and occasionally companies who have products or services that could be of use to academics’ teaching activities.)
Academics can register to be added to the IBIS database at https://www.ac-ibis.com/
